EI7BA built and installed the 8 element 144MHz LFA this week using a new method to mount the elements; Electric fence clips! John's antenna looks super professional on the mast yet costs were kept small by use of the 'cheap' element support clips.

John had these comments about his new 2M Yagi:

'Hi Justin..
Just a quick line to THANK YOU for your wonderful webpages and designs. I have just launched my 2m 8el LFA today. It's made mainly from my recycled G2BCX 16 el design of about 30 yrs?? ago. I won't regale you with descriptions of how good it is, as you know that already... Just to say I'm very happy.   I've attached a few pics, mainly to show you what I've used for boom insulators.. They're electric fence insulators, which I bought at the local Farmer's Co-op store... 7 euro for a bag of 25..  I took on board what you said about black plastics, but I figured that high voltage and carbon being incompatible, they may just be OK.

Anyway, time will tell, but the antenna came in on the correct part of the band, using precisely your measurments. I was amazed at how accurately my driven loop turned out. I bought a small pipe bender, and followed your instructions, and both end pieces were exactly the same. I had expected that I'd have to make a few, and pick the best ones, but the first two were "bang on". The bad news is that now...I'm hooked!. I have all the bits for your 11 el 6m/4m dual bander... so that's next. Then I'll probably make something nice for 70cms...   {:o)

Many thanks again Justin.
