CT1HZE installs a 10el 6m 50MHz LFA with a massive 17.8m long boom!

After being impressed by his 7el LFA last summer, CT1HZE chose the 10el LFA and boy, what a beast it is! DL8LAQ, CT1HZE and G0KSC took time out to build the Eantennas version of the 10el LFA before moving on to install a 9el for 70MHz on a 9.5m boom followed by a 5el for 10m on a 8m boom.

The 17.8M long 10el 6m LFA at CT1HZE

With almost 15.3dBi and over 35dB F/B and flat SWR between 50 and 50.5MHz this LFA is a real performer and to prove the LFA 'double dip' SWR curve can be acheived when built, below is a shot of the antenna analyser showing a plot between 49.9MHz and 50.4MHz.

The analyser shot between 49.9Mhz and 50.4MHz. Highest SWR between 50 and 50.5MHz is 1.1:1

While it is still early days, Joe commented that he had never seen such strong signals, especially from Brasil and Central America. Hopefully many new ones will be seen by Joe over the summer and perhaps an upate report will be posted on this site!

Congratulations Joe, this is the biggest LFA installed so far!
