Today G0VHF/P went live with their 11el LFA Yagi built by G0KSC. the 13.9m LFA (which can be found here: http://www.g0ksc.co.uk/11el-70mhz-low-noise-lfa.html )

Going up! The 11el LFA being tuned before being moved to the top of the mast and raised.

The big LFA was one of 2 arrays being used in the RSGB 4m Trophy the other being the 2 x 7el used if the first 4m Trophy contest earlier this year.

LFA Users have got used to seeing SWR plots like this. Why have return loss when you don't need to?

As always the LFA had a supper low SWR with a constant impedance throughout the band and provides excellent low-noise performance due to the high sidelobe suppression and closed loop feed.

In the air tonight - The 11el 4m LFA on Saturday (17th July 2010) Evening

Dave, G1OGY operating at G0VHFD had this to say ' The antenna was very sharp, it had a 30 degree beamwidth and if you went out side of this, there was nothing there !! This made it ideal; being able to block out some very strong signals coming in from behind the beam.. ' .
